Festival Season Is Here – And It’s Tasty!

Eau claire taste of calgaryCalgary has Festivals all year round, but considering our northern locale, it’s no surprise they are concentrated around the summer season. We’re known for the Stampede and the Folk Fest, but there is so much more going on, with more of a food focus.

For example, the Inglewood Sunfest (August 4th) has a great selection of food vendors and a fun family vibe. A couple of days later the Olympic Plaza hosts the 41st Heritage Day Festival, with plenty of ethnic experiences to enjoy.

Taste of Calgary (August 11th) is the premiere food festival of the year, with more than enough good grub to enjoy at Eau Claire Market. The same day sees the Calgary Japanese “Omatsuri” Festival, celebrating Japanese culture and cuisine, and the kickoff of Summer Feast celebrating 10 days of foodie prix fixe at 23 chef-driven restaurants.

The weekend starting August 16 sees GlobalFest, Expo Latino, the Franco Festival and more.

We haven’t even reached the end of August and there are ample events to attend. Keep your eyes open and appetite high, there’s plenty of food events to enjoy this summer.
